About Us
Dr. David H. Steed, OD
Dr. Steed was born in Tomball, Texas and loves the Texas culture. After graduating from high school, he served a 2 year mission in Brazil and speaks Portuguese and conversational Spanish. Dr. Steed received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University with a minor in business management. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry in 2010 with emphasis in vision therapy, disease and contact lens fittings. He is very experienced in the treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eyes. He loves working with kids and can offer a comprehensive eye exam on children 6 months and up. Dr. Steed loves living in the Central Valley so close to his wife's family and the beautiful outdoors. He has six wonderful children with four boys and two girls. He is very active in his church and loves to read a good book when he can find the time.
Meet Our Associate Optometrist and Office Staff
Matthew W. Oblad, O.D.
Dr. Oblad was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and raised in Syracuse, New York. After graduating from high school, he attended Brigham Young University - Hawaii, where he met his wife, Kanani. Dr. Oblad received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in April 2001. He continued his education and obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry in May 2005, graduating Summa cum laude. After graduation, Dr. Oblad gained valuable optometric experience working for Dr. Feil in Visalia since 2006. He is glaucoma certified and has valuable and vast experience fitting specialty contact lenses. Dr. Oblad loves the outdoors. He especially enjoys fishing, hiking and spending time cultivating fruit trees in his backyard. He is active in his church and was a missionary in the Dominican Republic where he became fluent in Spanish. But his greatest love is spending time with his family. Dr. Oblad enjoys being an optometrist because of the daily opportunities to serve and interact with his patients. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care to his patients.
Susan
Susan has been working for Dr. Lessley Since Sept. 2003 and for Dr. Steed since Jan. 2020. She is currently master of the front office area which includes patient intake, answering phones and patient check-out. She enjoys talking and getting to know new patients and catching up with our valued established patients that she has gotten to know and become friends with. When she isn't working Susan enjoys spending time at home and exploring new places to travel.
Carina
Carina is excellent in the optical field and comes with 7 years of experience in retail market. She is an amazing leader and currently, is the team lead for the opticians. She loves helping find just the right pair of glasses for each person and looks forward to meeting new people each day.
Jo
Jo loves helping in every aspect of the office from the optical to scribing for the doctors. She has a wonderful family and loves to spend time with them.
Heather
Heather is part of the front staff team and does a fantastic job of greeting each patient with a smile and helping coordinate all the patient care in the office
Liz
Liz is part of our amazing front staff team and helps with checkouts and insurance. She loves answering phones and customizing glasses adjustments for each patients needs. She loves spending time with her family and kids in her free time.
Chrissy
As an optician, Chrissy loves how the eyes work and enjoys helping each patient achieve their best visual potential. She loves her cat named Boo though she calls her Goose because she is her co-pilot in life.
Maygan
Helping patients find the perfect pair of glasses that helps bring a smile to each person. She loves her two dogs, Luna and Cali.
Veronica
Veronica has 3+ years experience as an optician and loves to help patients find their perfect glasses to meet their needs. She has furry children she calls kiddos and one grandkiddo.
Roxana
As our virtual scribe from El Salvador, Roxana loves helping assist in keeping patients records, billing and reports in excellent order. Her favorite milkshake is strawberry flavored and she preferes to share it with her dogs, Negrita, Bernardo, Gray and Pipa and cat Q.
Emily
Emily has been in the optical field for 10 years. She is best known for her amazing energy and loves to help find just the right frame for each patient. She loves her two furry companions, Maverick and Toad.
